How to connect Stripe to your event

If your event has paid tickets, you can connect Stripe and receive the money
directly in your own Stripe account. Peewah charges no commission on payments
taken through your own gateway.

Step 1: get your Stripe keys

In your Stripe account go to Developers → API Keys.

You need:

  • Publishable Key
  • Secret Key — click Reveal live key token to see it

⚠️ Make sure you are not in test mode. Stripe's test keys start with
pk_test_ and sk_test_; live keys start with pk_live_ and sk_live_.
Test keys connect without any error and take no real money.

Step 2: set up the webhook

This is what tells Peewah a payment succeeded. Without it, people pay and
their registration never completes.

Go to Developers → Webhooks and click Add endpoint with this URL:

https://2-dot-peewah-prod.uc.r.appspot.com/hosting/stripe/webhook

Select these event types:

  • payment_intent.succeeded
  • payment_intent.payment_failed

When you save, Stripe shows the Endpoint Secret. Copy it — you need it in
the next step.

Step 3: connect Stripe in your event

1. Open your event at app.peewah.co.

2. Go to Sales → Payment methods.

💡 The Sales menu only appears when your event has paid tickets. If you do
not see it, create a paid ticket type first under Registration → Ticket
type.

3. Find Stripe under Additional payment methods and click Configure.

4. Enter the four values:

Field

Where it comes from

Publishable Key

Developers → API Keys

Secret Key

Developers → API Keys

Endpoint Secret

Developers → Webhooks, shown when you create the endpoint

Currency

The currency your event charges in

5. Save changes.

Checking it worked

Buy a ticket yourself, with a real card, for the lowest-priced ticket you
have. Then confirm:

  1. The payment appears in your Stripe dashboard
  2. The ticket appears under Sales → Tickets sold in Peewah — not under

Pending tickets

If it lands in Pending tickets, the webhook is the problem, not the keys.
The charge went through and Peewah never heard about it.
