If your event has paid tickets, you can connect PayPal and receive the money
directly in your own account. Peewah charges no commission on payments taken
through your own gateway.

You need a PayPal Business account.

Step 1: create an app in PayPal

Go to developer.paypal.com and open My Apps &
Credentials. Create a new app with any name you like.

⚠️ Make sure the app is in Live mode, not Sandbox. The toggle is at the
top of the page and it is the single most common mistake in this setup.

PayPal then shows you:

• Client ID
• Secret

Step 2: create the webhook

This is what tells Peewah a payment succeeded. Without it, people pay and
their registration never completes.

In the developer panel create a webhook with this URL:

https://bkd-core-dot-peewah-prod.appspot.com/integrations/hosting/paypal/webhook

After you create it, PayPal generates a Webhook ID. Copy it.

💡 The Webhook ID is not on the credentials page. It only exists once the
webhook is created, which is why people look for it next to the Client ID and
cannot find it.

Step 3: connect PayPal in your event

1. Open your event at app.peewah.co.

2. Go to Sales → Payment methods.

💡 The Sales menu only appears when your event has paid tickets. If you do
not see it, create a paid ticket type first under Registration → Ticket
type.

3. Find PayPal under Additional payment methods and click
Configure.

🔴 The Sandbox switch decides whether you get paid

On means PayPal uses its testing environment. The gateway connects with no
errors, the buyer completes the purchase, a ticket is issued — and no money
moves.

Nothing on the screen tells you this is happening. Leave it off unless you are
deliberately testing.

Checking it worked

Buy a ticket yourself, with a real account, for the lowest-priced ticket you
have. Then confirm:

1. The payment appears in your PayPal account
2. The ticket appears under Sales → Tickets sold in Peewah — not under

Pending tickets

If it lands in Pending tickets, the webhook is the problem, not the
credentials.
