Two things worth knowing
The event banner is very wide and very short. At 1280 × 290 it is close to
a 4.4:1 strip — a square poster dropped in there will be cropped top and
bottom, usually through the title. Design for the strip, or keep the text
in the middle third.
Sponsor logos need a transparent background. At 135 × 69 a logo on a white
box shows as a white box on your page. Use PNG with transparency.
