How to set up your event registration form

The registration form is where you decide what you ask the people signing up
for your event.

Open it at Registration → Registration Form.

One form, or one per ticket type

At the top you choose which form you are editing:

The registration form applies to everyone, whatever ticket they bought. For
most events this is all you need.

Ticket-specific forms let you ask extra questions of certain ticket types —
student, professional, VIP.

⚠️ Use ticket-specific forms only when you have to. Every extra form is
another column set in your exports, and the reporting gets harder in a way
that is not obvious until the event is over.

Adding a field

Click New field. You define:

Field name — the question. Company, Job title, Specialty, City.

Required — whether it has to be filled in.

Participant identifier — a field marked this way must be unique across
registrants. The same value cannot be registered twice.

💡 This is how you stop duplicate registrations. For continuing education
events, a license number or NPI number works well: one clinician,
one registration, and the number you already need for the certificate.

Field types

  • Text
  • Number
  • Date
  • Phone
  • Single choice — dropdown
  • Single choice — buttons
  • Multiple choice

Ordering

Once fields exist you can reorder them, which sets what people are asked first.
Put the fields you always need at the top; if someone abandons halfway you keep
what matters.

Billing form

At the bottom you can enable a billing form — what you collect when someone
needs an invoice.

💡 Turn it on if you sell to institutions. A hospital or university
usually needs the invoice issued to the entity, with its Tax ID / EIN,
and asking at registration saves you chasing it afterwards.

Maximum tickets per registration

Caps how many tickets one person can request at once. The maximum is 15.

Raise it if people register in groups — a department head signing up their
team. Leave it at 1 if you need each person's details separately, because
several tickets on one registration do not always give you the individual
information.

Before you publish

Fill in your own form once, start to finish, on a phone. It is the only way
to see what a registrant sees: the order, which questions are required, and how
many there are.

A long form costs you registrations. If you are not going to use an answer,
remove the question.
