# What happens if an event is cancelled?

If an event is cancelled, the **organizer** is responsible for telling
attendees and deciding how refunds or compensation work.

Peewah is the platform organizers use to run their events — **we are not the
organizer**.

# If you bought a ticket

The organizer should tell you:

- That the event is cancelled
- How refunds will work
- Or what else is on offer — a new date, or a credit toward another event

# How long a refund takes

It depends on how you paid.

**Card payments** usually appear on your next statement, not immediately.
That delay is the bank's, not the organizer's — the refund can be issued and
still take days to show up.

**Other methods** vary, and the organizer will tell you the process.

> 💡 **Keep your confirmation email.** It has the order details you will be
> asked for, and it is the proof that you bought a ticket to an event whose
> page may come down.

**Start with the event organizer.** They cancelled it and they hold the money.

If you cannot reach them, or you need help confirming what you purchased,
