# How to register for an event

# 1. Open the event page

Use the event link you were sent — by email, from social media, from the
organizer's website, or in a message. It opens the event's registration page,
where all the details are.

---

# 2. Pick your ticket

Look for a button that says **Register**, **Get tickets** or **Buy**. You will
see the ticket types available. Choose yours and continue.

---

# 3. Fill in the form

There are usually two parts:

**Buyer details** — whoever is paying.

**Attendee details** — whoever is going.

Often the same person, in which case you fill both the same way.

> 💡 **If the event is paid, use the cardholder's details as the buyer.** When
> the name on the form and the name on the card do not match, banks decline
> the charge — and the message you get back rarely says that is why.

---

# 4. Review, and add a coupon if you have one

You will see a summary before paying. **If the organizer enabled coupons,
this is the only screen where you can enter one** — not after.

---

# 5. Pay, if there is a charge

Paid events send you to a payment page to finish.

---

# What arrives afterwards

- **A payment confirmation**, if you paid
- **A confirmation email from the event**, which contains **your ticket**

> ⚠️ **Keep that second email.** It is your ticket, and for an in-person event
> it holds the QR code you need at the door.
>
> **If it has not arrived in a few minutes, check your spam folder** before
> registering a second time. Registering twice creates a second entry and does
> not send the first email again.
